You’re Not Alone—We Understand Dental Anxiety

At Lyon Maison d’Art Dentaire, we recognize that visiting the dentist can feel overwhelming for many patients. Dental anxiety is real, and you’re not alone in feeling nervous or uncertain about treatment.

Our goal is to provide a calm, supportive space where every patient feels safe, listened to, and at ease during their visit. For some patients, that comfort comes from an emotional support animal, and we respect that need.

We Welcome Emotional Support Animals

We are proud to support patients who benefit from emotional support animals (ESAs) during their dental visits. Your comfort is an important part of your care experience.

To ensure a positive environment for all patients, we kindly ask that:

Your emotional support animal is well-behaved and under control at all times

Animals are properly restrained (leash, carrier, or harness)

Basic cleanliness and hygiene are maintained

If you plan to bring an ESA, please inform our team ahead of your appointment so we can make appropriate arrangements.

How Emotional Support Animals Can Help

Having your emotional support animal with you can make a meaningful difference in your dental experience by:

  • Reducing stress and anxiety before and during treatment
  • Helping you feel more relaxed and in control
  • Building trust and confidence with our dental team

We believe patients who feel comfortable are more likely to stay consistent with their oral health care.

What to Expect During Your Visit

When you visit our office with your emotional support animal, our team will do everything possible to accommodate your needs, including:

  • Noting your preference in advance to prepare for your visit
  • Providing a comfortable and calm treatment environment
  • Offering private space options, when available, for added comfort

Our goal is to make your experience as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Safety & Comfort for All Patients

Our office welcomes emotional support animals while upholding our responsibility to keep the environment safe, clean, and comfortable for everyone.

Please note:
  • Under the ADA, emotional support animals are not classified as service animals
  • The practice reserves the right to ensure that all animals meet safety and behavior expectations
  • We may request adjustments if any situation affects the comfort or safety of others
